Eight Little Villagers

Complementing the principles and outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), our Eight Little Villagers extracurricular activities programming opens your little ones’ world to a wide variety of opportunities, resources and interactions, encouraging them to develop and learn at their pace.

Our programs encourage and appreciate our multicultural society, developing awareness and respect for cultural similarities and differences. Children with additional needs will receive support and strategies to assist them in accessing our programs.

Little Zoo Villager

Zoos are a place of wonder and amazement with so many incredible learning opportunities, sparking curiosity, and allowing children to explore in a setting that satisfies all learning styles. The children make new discoveries about the world and themselves – what they like/ dislike, setting aside any fears, all packed with fun facts.

Our exclusive zoo programs teach children about natural habitats and wildlife, caring for the environment, sustainability, and aboriginal culture in an age-appropriate way. For our under 2-year-olds, the zoo comes to us – get up close and personal with Australian animals, as well as aquatic and forest species and Aboriginal culture with songs, dance and animals.

Our zoo excursions for 2-5-year-olds include VIP Behind the Scenes animal encounters, making it an exciting, special way to learn about each animal and how they fit into the world.

This special zoo program is only available through Grace Village Early Learning.

Active Villager

The Active Villager teaches discipline, respect and creativity with the correct physical conditioning. Our little players can push on to higher levels, on and off the football field, in the future.

Designed to assist children in developing important physical skills and environmental, nutritional and safety awareness, Active Villager is a fun, physical program. It is based on the foundations, systems and philosophies developed by leading European football teams.

Outdoor Villager

The outdoor villager strengthens children’s understanding of the natural world and their role in caring for and about each element. It also helps children build physical and stamina, enhances their learning and social skills, and teaches them wise ways to manage risk.

Our educators ensure that the outdoor curriculum explores sustainability, other-than-human species, land care, conservation, natural history and botanical know-how.

Safe Villager
fire safety program - nsw fire

The self-defence skills your little one will learn, include identifying and avoiding danger, how they can use their voice confidently and run to safety.

Embedded with fun and exciting games, Safe Villager gives little ones simple and practical tools to protect themselves from dangerous or uncomfortable situations for freedom and the confidence to enjoy life.

Our topics include Road safety, water safety, sun safety, fire & electrical safety, playground safety, home safety, animal safety, burns, poisons, First Aid, bullying, stranger danger, ‘It’s your body’, crowds and people who can help.

The Healthy Master Chef Villager
healthy master chef villager program. Children learning to about healthy food options

Designed for little chefs to incorporate healthy eating and exercise so it becomes a natural and instinctive part of your little one’s life, for a strong and healthy body and mind.

Never too young to learn about good nutrition and cooking, every lesson inside our dedicated village kitchen includes a simple and fun discussion about eating well and giving our bodies good fuel.

Little villagers engage in activities based on seed sprouting, weeding, herb gardens, vegetable gardens, eating what we grow from our garden and regular cooking experiences. Our program incorporates the NSW government initiative Munch and Move.

Technology & Robotic Villager

Our ‘hands-on, minds-on’ learning, little scientists gain the confidence to ask questions, and the tools to find answers and solve real-life problems. Improves their ICT skills and incorporates language learning and digital technology into their daily routine.

Using technology and science in interesting activities using iPads, Lego robotics, programming, and science practices.

These activities include interactive apps that respond to touch visually and through sound, developing, engaging and motivating interest in learning science and engineering-related subjects using bricks, modelling reality, conducting investigations and designing skills in developing science practices.

Life Readiness Villager

Every little villager is given the tools necessary to settle in quickly and excel in the school environment, both socially and emotionally. This encourages them to play a responsible role in the classroom & the wider community with developed language and communication skills.

Every day at Grace Village is getting ready for school, where your little one learns school skills, develops confidence and is encouraged to be independent through little tasks and activities.

Using the EYLF and the Reggio Emilia Approach, the activities are based around storytelling in a print-rich environment – improving vocabulary, cooperation to work together, and language and literacy, including letter recognition, book handling skills and comprehension.

The Empowered Villager (Social & Emotional Skills)
Building blocks and school readiness at Grace Village ELC, Huntingwood

This villager understands his or her feelings and is empathetic to others.

Kind and caring (peer support relationships) and at the same time is focused on self-care (health and relaxation), and being the best version of a villager he or she can be (personal best, personal potential, focus, not comparing to others, persistence, always learning with a growth mindset).

Striving forward in life knowing that a person is in charge of their responses and their choices and their emotions (self-regulating)

I heard about grace village the minute it opened through friends. I always thought one day when I had my next baby I’ll send him there and i had my baby and started him at grace village. It really is... childcare reimagined. All the staff are so welcoming & friendly. They took onboard any information I had regarding my little one and helped me through some milestones with him. We are only leaving grace village because we got into a centre closer to home literally around the corner. I can’t thank them enough for making my return to work so easy leaving your baby isn’t easy but they kept me up to date which was re assuring that he was in good hands. Thank you Grace Village for the short amount of time we spent there.read more

If I could give more stars, I would! Grace Village is an exceptional centre! Chantel and Ray go out of their way to provide the best quality care from the moment you walk in the door. Both of my... children have attended the centre for the past three years. Both the boys have loved every moment at the centre and have huge smiles when we pick them up. The staff provide interesting and varied activities and are truly dedicated to making every day an enjoyable experience for the children. Sadly we are having to relocate but it is has been very hard to find a centre that compares. We will miss GV!!read more

GV has fantastic facilities including a third space for parents, an art atelier, lovely free-play outdoor spaces, and an epic undercover play area that allows children to be feel as though they are... playing outdoors when the weather doesn’t allow for true outside play. No other centre we have toured has offered play areas like this.We chose GV for our children because of their play-based (Reggio Emilia) philosophy and approach. We love that our little people have been able to be barefoot most of the time, supporting sensory feedback and encouraging their physical and mental development.Everyone at GV shows love for our children as they would their own. GV has been our home away from home, our family and greatest support through some very hard times.Thank you to all the nurturing educators, carers and all of the GV tribe for guiding our young man and little lady through their special formative and most impressionable years.read more

My child has attended this lovely village for almost 4 years. Awesome learning center as there is always a little bit of extra effort in every single thing that they do. They have amazing and... friendly staff, great facilities and all round activities to ensure that a child develops physically, socially, emotionally and mentally well balanced. In each special occasion they have given us special memories whether in the app, physical souvenirs and lots of memories we’ll look back on when they grow older. My son is now in kindy but he still misses the staff and his friends there. Amazing and highly recommended team !read more

It’s really is a village environment, we are blessed to have been a part of & will miss everyone who made a beautiful impact on our children’s first years of life. Thank you Grace Village!read more
